What is
Casa Del Pastor?
Casa del Pastor, is an outreach of Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley, located about an hour south from Ensenada, Baja. It serves abandoned or abused women and children, founded by Lisa Heit and Jeanie Sue. The Missionary Team provides opportunity for a new life and salvation through Jesus Christ for these fragmented families.
Since acquiring a new building in 2008, the home has housed 26 families, providing shelter to around 20 women and 60 children.
These families are referred by church organizations, missionaries, orphanages, or civil authorities from Baja California. They receive a furnished room, food, and clothing, and are encouraged to become active members. Counseling is provided to help them understand their situation, and children are enrolled in school and provided with necessary uniforms, supplies, and tutoring. Medical and dental care is also provided to support their families.
The Mission in Action
Step 3, Move in
By the time a family moves into their home, they have learned the skills necessary to support and care for themselves and their families. Casa del Pastor becomes an extended family.
Step 4, Most Important Goal
They are exposed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have daily devotions, attend church, and see the Christian walk modeled on a daily basis.
Step 2, Build the Home
Once the property is paid in full, the Casa del Pastor makes arrangements for volunteer church groups to build a small house on the lot, free of charge.
Step 1, Buy a Property
Each mother agrees to work in a paying job and save her wages. She uses those wages to purchase a small portion of property.
